It’s turned into some serious winter at my house over the weekend, but I’m brightening my day with thoughts of spring flowers . . . so here are two ways to make a flower-full border with the Creative Memories 2017 Christmas collection, Sugarplum!
Products and tools used:
- Sugarplum paper and embellishments
- Navy & Beige cardstock
- 12-inch Trimmer
- All-purpose Scissors — These are the BEST! If you don’t already have these awesome scissors, go invest the $5 RIGHT NOW to get them!!!
- Embossed Trio Flower Punch
- Dewdrop Flower Punch
- Daisy Bouquet Punch (NLA–sorry!)
- Tape Runner
- Foam Squares
I started with dewdrop flowers punched from the multicolor “burst” Sugarplum paper, and then I did the embossed trio flowers from the same sheet but from the wheat-colored print on the other side. Then I punched different sizes of daisies on the navy dot paper. I layered them all up and attached some of the flowers with Tape Runner and some with Foam Squares to a 1/2″ strip of the light turquoise paper. My mom made a great suggestion (she always has great ideas): Added some of the dewdrop “scraps” in clusters that look like leaves. Finally I added some gems to make my flowers shine and attached a couple of the banner embellishments as well.
Once that strip was done, I looked at it two ways: First, I tried it with a 1″ strip of the navy dot paper underneath over a sheet of beige cardstock. Second, I inverted the colors behind the border and instead did a 1″ strip of beige under the border, all on a sheet of solid navy.
Which one do you like best???
