CLS Winter Blog Hop Bonanza: January “My Memories” Pages

I hope you’re enjoying our Winter Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Julie’s blog, but if you’re hopping out of order you can see all the links at the bottom of this post

January is a busy month for me, and this year I’ve made a goal to keep an updated, current annual family album. It’s just me and hubby, so we don’t have a lot of “family” photos . . . ok, I’ll be honest, it mostly just about me. 🙂 I’ll be honest and say it was a little bit of a struggle to remember to take pictures of the normal day-to-day things happening this month and remember to print them!

Screen Shot 2017-10-31 at 9.44.48 AMI’m using the Creative Memories My Memories Gift Box Bundle as the basis for my album this year. It’s perfect for monthly layouts, and I love the fun patterns and earthy colors. I’ll be creating a 2-page layout each month in this album this year.

BTW, if you’re in Northern Utah and you want to crop along with me and my group this year, check out our Monthly Cropper’s Club. I’d love to have you join us! Continue reading

February Blog Hop: Upcycled Hybrid Valentines

Hi everyone, and thanks for joining the Creative Life Scrapbookers’ blog hop this month! To find out more about what we’re doing and what’s coming up, you should like our Facebook page. 🙂

If you’re hopping through all our blogs, you probably arrived here from D. Brinsley’s Memory Keeping Blog. Read through to the bottom of this post to find your next stop!

Even though I don’t usually scrapbook Valentine’s Day stuff (honestly, I’m not a big fan of the holiday…it comes from many years of singlehood…but that’s a story for another time), I do really enjoy the colors that come along with the day! p1030246

Since I knew I wouldn’t be making a layout, I had to find another fun way to use some of my new crafty stuff. I noodled on a few ideas, but nothing seemed quite awesome enough.

One day, while drinking my Diet Coke with lunch, it struck me that these little 12oz bottles would be adorable repurposed and decorated as Valentine gifts for the kids my husband and I teach each week at church. INSPIRATION!

Note: This post was originally published as a stand-along page, and all the related comments are on that page. It was later moved to the blog area of my site.

Welcome to the 2015 CM Bordermania Blog Hop! If you’re following all the blogs, you should have arrived here from the CM Blog.

I’m so glad you have come to visit my little Utah-based space. 🙂 Please read all the way to the end for the next link and a special giveaway! Update: The winner of the giveaway from my blog was Liz Kielley! Enjoy your borders, Liz, and a big THANK YOU to everybody who visited and commented!!

I absolutely love the new CM Border Maker, and I’ve enjoyed playing with the cartridges and some fun CM paper. Here are a few of the ideas I came up with…

This is one of the first borders I made with the Bubble Cartridge, using various papers from the Strut Your Stuff paper pack.

Here's another way to use the Film Strip Cartridge, this time using Vintage paper and a card from the Tangerine, Plum, and Then Some slide in pack.

And here's a tried and true border: A fat strip of striped paper couples nicely with a few overlapping slide in cards!
